1. My favorite software has got to be GeoGebra!
Many districts have spent thousands of dollars to equip math classrooms with "Geometer's Sketchpad." I have nothing against GS, but it costs a lot of money and is quite limited.
    • Students can't view the sketches outside the classroom unless they purchase the program and download the individual modules.
    • The Java applets are difficult at best to write / create.
    • The Java version is not very robust at all.
    • For a positive note, there are a lot of community built modules available for download. However, the GeoGebra community is building an extensive library as well.
GeoGebra is free for teachers and students.
  2. VoiceThread - Authentic Assessment at its finest.  This tool gives the instructor the ability to not only see what the student is doing, but hear their thoughts as they are responding to the prompt.  You must see it to fully grasp what I'm saying.
  3. Zoho Suite - I will produce many of my presentations with Zoho "Presenter", similar to PowerPoint, but online.  These presentations are embeddable, easily placed in web / wiki pages.  You saw one of my Zoho presentations on the opening page of this site.

Many more to share, will update later.
